Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is an alternative therapy, which includes various other therapies like energy medicine, acupressure and neuro-linguistic programming. It involves tapping on specific therapeutic acupressure points.
As given by Chinese medicine, there are acupuncture points and meridians that extend to the brain. Tapping on these points enable individuals to release their negative emotions and modify their brain functioning. This can help them to reduce neurological problems. Hence, this therapy is based on acupuncture and is used to relieve negative emotions by tapping.
This is also considered as an emotional form of acupuncture. There are 13 specific therapeutic points identified, which can help to access the energy structure. When individuals are able to reach these points they can help themselves to release their negative emotions.
There are two basic areas that need to be worked out while practicing EFT. One is location and technique of tapping the therapeutic points and the other is positive affirmations. Tapping is done gently but by firmly using the fingers.
