Practicing Jiva Meditation

Jiva Meditation can keep you calm as well as energized throughout the day. Practicing it efficiently will require you to follow these steps.

  • Step 1: Position

Meditation techniques never work unless you are in the right position or arrangement to focus properly. Your body needs to feel totally comfortable while meditating. Hence, sitting in a comfortable and relaxed position is considered a must for Jiva meditation.

You will need to ensure that your spine is straight when sitting down to perform Jiva meditation. If sitting straight is a problem, you can try lying down straight on the floor. This can also help your body relax properly before starting Jiva meditation.

  • Step 2: Breathing

Once you are comfortable in a specific position, close your eyes and start breathing deeply. Ensure to take long, slow breaths and continue doing so for at least a couple of times. Once that is done, start focusing on your breathing and its rhythm. Ensure that you are breathing naturally and not forcefully.

  • Step 3: Visualization

Start visualizing your inner self by imaging your heart to be an ocean with just a tiny drop of love in it. This step may be difficult for you initially. However, with time, you can perfect it and start visualizing your soul properly.

  • Step 4: Relaxation

Once you become adept at visualizing your heart this way, start enjoying its beautiful and soothing realization. Welcome the introduction to your inner self with a true smile. Relax your mind and concentrate deeply on that particular moment alone.

  • Step 5: Realization

Remember how you visualized your heart to be an ocean with a tiny drop of love in it? Now slowly start imagining this love growing and spreading throughout your body. Allow this growing love to engulf your body completely, envisioning your body and soul to be filled with love at that moment.

  • Step 6: Expansion

As you imagine this love spreading, envision it start to destroy the blockages and toxins in your body and mind. Imagine this love entering your heart again and expanding to overshadow ignorance and everything else that looks dark and foreboding. Embrace the joy and peace that comes with this feeling, allowing your body and mind to relax in the process.

Following this, envision this love entering all the organs in your body and cleansing them of toxins, impurities, darkness and other things that contribute to negative energy. Imagine your body to be cured of all toxins, illnesses and diseases. Imagine yourself to be a healthier person.

Find peace with yourself and remain in this trance for about 15 minutes. Following this, welcome yourself back to the real world by slowly opening your eyes. You will be amazed at how much better you feel then.

Jiva meditation is a popular form of meditation that helps to energize the body and soul. It works on the principle of cleansing the body of negative energy so as to promote relaxation and peace. This, in turn, will have several health benefits for the body and soul in the long run.
