The cold temperature of winter can destroy your skin. You might like to snuggle into your blanket often but yoga can be a rescue to this cold that can keep you warm and protect you against some diseases and infections as well.

Corpse pose:

Lie down on your back and let relax your whole body. This pose not only relaxes the body but also skin of your face.
Surya Namasakara:

Also known as sun salutation, Surya Namaskara means to bow down in front of the sun in the early morning to receive strength from the sun. This pose is beneficial for the season as it will keep your body warm and will strengthen your muscles, back, and provide flexibility to the body.

Goddess pose:

Also called as double warrior pose, it helps in strengthening the inner thigh muscles, increases heat in the body, which is very essential for the season, and increases blood circulation. The pose starts with standing in a mountain pose and then turning your toes out and heels in. Now, slowly bring your arms at shoulder level and bend your elbows and your fingers should be pointing towards the sky.

Proper sleep:

Avoid sleeping for hours in winters as it promotes sluggishness in your body. 6-8 hours of sleep is sufficient. Also sleeping in the day should be avoided.
 
Exercise:

However tempting it is to stay in the bed and sleeping for hours in the season but exercise must not be kept aside. It is important to stretch your body and muscles in order to avoid any stiffness in your body.
 
Proper food diet:

Add some soups and herbal tea to your diet. Also find room for some spices like garlic, ginger, black pepper and cloves. They will augment your food and are good for the health.
 
Sunlight:

This season, be sure to take proper dose of sunlight and keep your body warm. It is the best way to stay warm. You could go for an evening walk, or commit to some other outdoor activity.
 
Massages and therapies:

It is cold outside and that will make skin dry. It is necessary to take proper care of your skin to prevent such dryness. You can try different therapies and massages that suits your body.
