The San Francisco Department of Public Health had launched this billboard advertisement campaign in April this year to create awareness about the crystal meth problem in San Francisco. The billboards were placed in the Castro (gay neighborhood) in San Francisco to invite community ideas to handle the serious problem of crystal meth, which has been largely been rampant in gay community. The campaign has reportedly met considerable success as people submitted their ideas and thoughts to solve or restrain the problem through the website, launched for this very purpose and through mails. The campaign had double-edged agenda on their cards, at one hand it envisaged to confront meth problem and at the same time it also attempted to reduce the spread of HIV in gay community.

The appearance of the advertisement though was not much attractive or compelling but its message was so crucial that it attracted sizeable attention of people. As a matter of fact, the campaign aimed at building up a movement against these problems by mobilizing people’s participation and interacting with them through the Resist meth website. The poster aims at diverting people to the website in order to create a mass base for the planned movement. The campaign was created by Better World Advertising.
