Online spending will reach an astounding $20 billion mark in 2007, predicted market research firm eMarketer. Giving weight to the latest prediction, the figure stands for a 19 percent increase if compared with the 2006 figure. The research firm’s prediction came soon after when substantial online sales at Christmas exceeded analyst’s prediction. If the latest prediction is taken into account, a 19 percent rise is well below than 30 percent rise in the past few years however, still beats 14 percent growth predicted for the overall U.S. advertising sector.
emarketer has further predicted that the year 2007 will witness prominence of online video advertisements following growing social network, huge video game downloads and consumer’s increasing tilt towards internet.
The research firm has also expressed optimist for user-generated content making its way to mobile TV which will definitely grow prominent in the time to come. However, advertisement on mobile phones is yet to make a major breakthrough at the moment, but it will certainly pick after some time.
