The recent ad of McDonald’s in China drawing flakes from various quarters for being sexually too offensive. In the latest billboard advertisement McDonald’s has focused showing a close-up of a woman’s lips and in another instance, in the TV advertisement a woman has been shown running her hand on a man’s bicep. WSJ in its article has undertaken a comprehensive look at the entire scenario.

The recent ad campaign was launched to introduce the Quarter Pounder in China. That also indicates towards a shift in strategy, as the company seems to focus less on the menu especially designed to suit Chinese taste and pushing traditional American hamburger into the market.
