Lenovo wins CCTV’s Olympic Ad bid

Lenovo has clinched the bid for the single sponsorship of CCTV’s Olympics Countdown Show. Earlier Lenovo had pledged RMB 162 million for getting this sponsorship. The company is likely to launch a series of advertisements in next March. This bid has enable the co,pany to run advertisements for a period of 500 days beginning from 27 March 2007 to 24 August 2008.

However, Lenovo was confident that they would win the bid as it is the only top sponsor of the Olympics from China. Analysts are of the view that what Lenonvo quoted in the bid is quite reasonabler and cost effective. The minimum bidding price was fixed at RMB 120 million and there were thirty other Olympic sponsors in the fray.
