vodafone 1

Vodafone’s ad depicting a woman who can be tried and tested free for a month is creating controversy in Czech Republic. In the commercial, a young guy is shown asking his girlfriend’s father for her hand. Would be father-in-law advises the guy to try out his daughter for a month, live with her and see how see how she cooks and cleans the household stuff. And then he should make up his mind whether to go for it or not.

Alena Kralikova of Gender Studies finds the ad is degrading to women. She also has received lot of complaints in this regard from both men and women.

Vodafone’s press department says the ad is innocent. They only tried to show Vodafone service which is free for one month and comes without any obligation to consumers.

Hmm.

Replace Vodafone service with a beautiful woman. What you get is not what they try to advertise.
