As the debate intensifies over the issue that whether junk food ads should be banned, another relief came to the junk food companies as Federal health minister of Australian, Tony Abbott says there is no need for a ban. Recently, Greens had announced to move an amendment in the parliament next week to ban fast food advertisements during children’s TV viewing hours.
Tony had said that it is true that these ads are able to convince some people to eat fast food yet banning ads would be a soft option. Further, he suggested that increased food information and awareness would be better solution.
The former health minister alleged that banning option for the governments reflect that it is more interested in looking good than doing good.
