This is an interesting television advertisement launched in public interest by the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Finland to urge people to use seat belts as a road safety measure. The campaign aims at establishing the fact that how important is it taking precautionary measures and particularly using seat belt to ward off any possibility of accident. The advertisement is showing that even dummies follow the rules and regulations pertaining to road safety but human being on the other side reluctant to use it and consequently met with an accident.

The presentation of the campaign to some can be confusing and falling short of establishing connection between dummies and real human being which is probably a part of exaggeration of the basic idea. However, dummy has been used to signify the fact they are used in crash test and it is undesirable that any human being would act like a dummy for a car accident. The punch line says, ‘Even dummies wear seatbelts’. The advertisement was developed by Publicis Helsinki.
