Asahi beer has launched this print advertisement campaign to promote its brand name in a unique way. The campaign apparently attempted to link the effect of the beer with spirituality and martial arts which is close to this art. However, the campaign has taken a lighter approach in the treatment of the advertisements. The advertisements are banking upon the text of the advertisements and the visuals play just supporting role.
Visually the campaign is not at all effective and the campaign primarily banks on the smart copy used in the campaign. The basic approach of the campaign is obviously humorous and the issues it has integrated are somewhat close to beer. The punch line of the campaign reads, ‘Japan’s No.1 beer’.
