Marking a new dimension in advertisement world, WWF has launched a unique kind of advertisement on a Dutch social networking site, in order to increase public participation for wildlife conservation. Following a brand new strategy WWF has placed profiles of Amazon area animals on famous websites. Profiles of jaguars Jack and Jacky have been placed on Dutch dating website Mundo, where they are looking for a steady relationship with people that are willing to ‘give’. While, at another network called Hyves, capybara, Leonard80 is searching for friends that like to stay in touch with nature.
The main strategy of the campaign is to engage people with Amazon rainforest area using an extraordinary advertisement. Hout Lust writes, ‘Over 450 people have already taken an interest in Jack an Jacky already. Over 150 friends of Leonard are reading his whereabouts on a daily base at Hyves.’ The campaign has been designed by Black Magic Marker.
