Wal-Mart has recalled its Women’s shoes, due to potential hazard to the users. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with Walmart, announced a voluntary recall of the product. Consumers have been instructed to stop the use of the recalled products immediately.

The major reason behind this move is that the heels on the shoes can easily detach and can cause a ‘fall hazard to consumers’. : Consumers have been advised to return the shoes to the nearest Wal-Mart for a full refund. This recall involves women’s sling-back, pointed-toe shoes sold under the George brand. The shoes were sold in three colors-black, grey and purple.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission is an independent federal agency created by Congress in 1973 and charged with protecting the American public from unreasonable risks of serious injury or death from more than 15,000 types of consumer products under the agency’s jurisdiction.
