A newspaper promotion for Tom Cruise’s latest flick, Mission Impossible III misfired when an arson squad from California thinking a news rack contained a bomb has blown up the rack.

The rack was fitted with a digital musical device on a coin machine. It was designed in such a way that whenever the rack door would open, it would start playing the Mission Impossible theme song. The device was randomly placed in 4500 digital boxes in Ventura countries and Los Angeles . Paramount Pictures has designed this promotion to turn the ‘everyday news rack experience’ into an ‘extraordinary mission’.
