Thrombocid: Ease the blow

This is an interesting ambient campaign launched in Spain to promote Thrombocid, a cream used for treating a range of circulation problem such as paraesthesia (pins and needles), tired and heavy legs, varicose veins and bruising caused by knocks. In fact, Thrombocid had earlier launched its commercial campaign using conventional media, in which all these applications were explained. However, it has decided to launch a non-conventional campaign to communicate one particular application that the use of Thrombocid for the treatment of bruising caused by knocks, which could substantially increase the customer base.

Consequently, the advertisers decided to place advertisement on the scaffolding put up on buildings being constructed or renovated. Councils in Spain require builders to put padding on scaffolding bars at street level to prevent pedestrians from hurting themselves, in case if they walk into it. Therefore, these padding were used to communicate that the product too has the same effect of easing the blow.

The product benefit has been effectively conveyed using a non-conventional media. The campaign was created by Tiemp BBDO, Spain.
