Some car makers are spending less on advertising

Dr Prem Digital Healthcare Marketing

An Advertising Age estimate says that the car companies on an average spent $630 to advertise each new vehicle. In 2004, the figure dropped from a record $645. Among automakers Toyota seems to be the one that is following the exercise quite religiously. It tops the chart by spending only $473 per vehicle. Along the lines names like DaimlerChrysler AG and Nissan North America Inc. also spent much lesser than previous years.

But not all are following the trend though. In fact Ford Motor Co., General Motors and American Honda Motor Co. spent more on advertising than previous year.

Volkswagen of America Inc. to be specific spent $1,365 per vehicle.
