PETA pleads Pope to go Vegan

At last, a spark of sensible or serious thought from PETA. It has penned a letter to Pope Benedict XVI, urging his holiness to go vegan and serve only vegetable meals at the Vatican.

This comes close on the heels of the Pope’s statement connecting world peace with preserving the environment. PETA, while appreciating the Pope’s interests to protect the environment, says in the letter that the best way of protecting the environment is by discarding Non-vegetarian food.

In anticipation of World Day of Peace, held on January 1st, Pope Benedict XVI has issued a statement connecting world peace with preserving the environment. In response, Bruce Friedrich, Vice President of Policy and Government Affairs for PETA, penned a letter urging his holiness to go vegan and serve only animal free meals at the Vatican.
