New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson, continuing his Democratic presidential bid, has recently launched a new television advertisement in Iowa and New Hampshire, demanding that all US troops come out of Iraq and calling on Congress ‘to stand up to this president.’ The advertisement is showing Richardson walking through the foothills of his home state and saying, ‘Our troops have done everything we’ve asked, and I don’t want to see any more die’.

Richardson further asserts in the advertisement, ‘the one thing the Iraqis agree on is they want us to leave.’ For supporting his assertion and to authenticate it, the campaign has cited data from WorldPublicOpinion.org. According to the data, 71 percent of Iraqis are of the view that they would like the Iraqi government to ask for US-led forces to be pulled out within a year or less.

In the meanwhile abc News has reported, based on figures obtained from a rival campaign, that the ad cost more than $150,000 to air in Iowa and more than $55,000 to air in New Hampshire. The rival campaign is expected to be launched on coming Monday.
