The Indian Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss has urged the film stars and sportspersons to refrain from endorsing soft drink products as it is harmful for kids. The top film celebrities and the leading sportspersons are involved in promoting soft drinks of leading companies.
The minister argued that aerated drinks are adversely affecting children’s health and these kids are somewhat fascinated when they see their stars are promoting these products. Further, he clarified that he is not up to ban cold drinks. Earlier, he had urged film stars to stop smoking on the screen.
Interstingly, as the article link below suggests, many of these endorsers do not actually consume these soft drinks, for health sake!
