The Royal Ottawa Hospital is all set to launch a brave, provocative ad campaign to raise awareness of the commonness of mental illness. To raise empathy, consciousness and mental support, the campaign in its first phase will break into the newspapers. The ad is focusing on addiction, schizophrenia, depression and anxiety.
The full-page newspaper ads are supposed to make direct appeal to more than ten thousand families, organizations, individuals, business houses to donate $1000 each or pledge $200 annually for next five years.
The funds raised will go directly to Royal Ottawa Hospital, which will support research and patient care.
The second phase will be lighter in tone. It will point to the region of the brains to motivate one to donate money.
