In a desperate move to enhance efficiency Daily Mail and General Trust (DMGT), UK’s largest media group is selling off its regional newspapers division which has more than100 local news papers on its board.
The group currently operates Associated Newspapers (Daily Mail, Mail on Sunday,Evening Standard, Ireland on Sunday, Metro), Northcliffe (Bristol Evening Post and the Leicester Mercury) DMG Broadcasting, DMG World Media, Euromoney.
It seems the news got a favorable response in the stock market as DMGT lifted by around 9%.
