News is something new- that is an old definition which still remains as young as a 60 + year old young movie star. When a newspaper promotes its self, there is usually an air of pompousness. This campaign for Prachachat Newspaper in Thailand is clever, but shocking and it raises some questions over advertising ethics as well as journalistic values.
Well, the copy says it all-See through the truth.
But the visuals which supports the copy says it more loud, more noticeably, peppered with an element of shock and gratuitously degusting subtlety. The newspaper is seeing through the truth- one of the ads shows a classroom where a teacher makes anal sex with his student. (See larger images here) The other ad is also equally shocking, if not more shocking.
The question is- is it too candid that is amorously breaks the moral values of the social psyche? Or is this kind of shock needed to be depicted to get the desired impact? You decide.
