American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) has declared a new national campaign, ‘Ask Me’ that encourages women to get an advanced prescription for the ‘morning after pill’ so that in case of unprotected sex it can be available later. ACOG feels the morning after pill should reduce half the 3 million unplanned pregnancies occur every year in the United States.
The aim of the campaign is to make women be prepared ahead of a contraceptive failure or an unprotected sex. It will ask doctors to ask women if they would like a prescription for the morning after pill.
A group of pro life doctors however opposed to the campaign.
