Advocacy group 11.11.11âs international campaign for decent work was launched in January 2007. The recent video is part of the series. The Belgian campaign in Dutch and French includes videos, a website, and radio PSAs. Everybody involved in the project contributed for free.
Here is the touching conversation of the two radio PSAs. The translation taken directly from Osocio:
PSA One:
– Can I help you?
– Iâd like to buy a batch of telephone operators.
– For use in sales or as a helpdesk?
– Itâs actually for a promotional campaign.
– In that case I would rent, Iâve got some really good men from eastern Chinaâ¦
PSA Two:
– Excuse me sir.
– What can I do you for?.
– I heard youâre selling cheap Polish labourersâ¦
Indeed, itâs an excellent idea, similar to other campaigns launched by 11.11.11. The BBDO concept gives way to larger than life imagery. However, do you really think that âpityâ can be used successfully to inspire? Itâs all about selling services. Service is the real end, weâre mere means. Instead of this, combating and encouragement to fight it in the face could only put an end to the so-called undignified work culture. For example, a dialogue depicting a worker highlighting the fact that an employee is not a tool simply because he’s not an employee, he’s an entrepreneur selling product, his services in this case, in the market. Buy it, or get buyed.
Thanks Jeroen
