This is an interesting print advertisement published with a view to raise awareness about global warming. The advertisement has adopted unique approach to remind people regarding the imminent problem of global warming, which is a result of environment destruction by the hands of human beings. The advertisement is showing a melting ice cube on the hand of a person depicting the human hands causing global warming. The core ides seems to invoke thoughts among people that it is human being, responsible for the destruction of environment and consequently global warming, and again it is in the hands of the same people to save the planet. Thereby, the primary aim of the advertisement was to persuade people to take action to stop global warming.
The presentation of the advertisement might not be very impressive and hard hitting but it comfortably communicates its message. Moreover, there was ample scope for improving the presentation and the copy of the advertisement, which seems to be slightly less effective to impact its recipients. The copy of the ad reads, ‘The human hand isn’t always creative. Sometimes it destroys… The polar ice caps are melting. We can all do something to slow down global warming. It’s in our hand to save the planet.’ The campaign was created by TBWA, Athens, Greece.
