Public support for pre-9pm ban of junk food ads

The fast food commercial issue is keeping the companies busy this time around as the public opinion for a pre-9pm ban have started gaining momentum. As the issue is turning away from the fast food companies in favor of the mass at large, companies on the other hand trying desperately to block these sentiments to be materialized. The call for the ban is also supported by National Heart Forum (NHF) and Food Standards Agency, which might have irked many companies.

The proposal to a pre-9pm ban on advertising for such food and drinks that are high in fat, sugar and salt has attracted support of 1,000 votes said NHF. On the other hand, Ofcom has initiated a review of advertising rules in reaction to rising levels of obesity among children.
