Blackheads are generally something which affects people of any age or gender. Admittedly, blackheads can be unsightly and people who have them may want to remove them. However, squeezing these blackheads is definitely not the best way of getting rid of them. Doing so will cause the skin to become infected and therefore inflamed. Thankfully, there are home remedies available which can help remove the blackheads. It is most important for those suffering from blackheads to keep their skin clean and regularly remove excessive oil around the face, especially nose. Instead of squeezing blackheads, you can use homemade blackhead removers, homemade facemasks, scrubs and strips. To some extent, you can remove blackhead with the use of blackhead removers. Instead, why not try some home remedies to permanently and thoroughly remove blackheads at home.

  • Potatoes are rich in in potassium, vitamin B6 and so on. They can be used to remove impurities and get rid of the blackhead problem. Many users have reported that raw potatoes have the potential to get rid of blackhead. For instance, you can use potato facial treatments and can be used daily. What you need to do is to peel a raw potato and then grate it as fine as you can or slice it as thin as possible. Apply the slice or grated potato to the affected areas of the skin. Leave this in place and rest back for 5 minutes. Leave the potato there till it is dry.
  • You could also use almonds to remove blackheads naturally. Mix some powdered almonds with some glycerine soap and fuller’s earth with a little water. Rub this paste on the affected spots on the face. Alternatively, mix fuller’s earth, with almond paste and oatmeal. Rub this all over your face and wash it off after 10 minutes.
  • You could also use lemon as a natural remedy to remove blackheads. You could apply lemon juice directly to your face or dip a piece of cotton into lemon juice and dab it on the affected regions 2 to 3 times a day. You may notice a difference in a few weeks.

Alternatively, you could use lemon juice to make a face mask. Mix ½ teaspoon of lemon juice with an egg white. Apply it to your face and let it rest. Once it hardens, pull the mask off. When rinsing the face, do not wash. Instead, splash water on your face and then use a mild lotion after that.

  • You could try applying warm honey on your face. This is a simple method and you only need to wait for about 15 minutes and then wash it off. If you can find honey where you live, you could use that to remove blackheads.
  • Aloe vera has soothing and cleansing properties so blackheads can be removed quite easily. Break the stem and take the juice and apply on the affected parts of the face.
