1. Avoid hot surroundings

A heat stroke patient should be immediately shifted to cooler and shady areas. Provide air coolers or air conditioners at home to lower the body temperature of the patient. You can shower water on the body of the patient or apply cold packs to lower the temperature. The patient must take small portions of electrolytic solutions at regular intervals instead of consuming large volumes at a time. Always carry electrolytic sachets while traveling in summer. This can provide a quick remedy to heat stroke.

4. Juice of holy basil leaves

Holy basil leaves are widely used in a number of home remedies for different ailments. Crush a handful leaves of holy basil and squeeze out the juice from it. Add a little sugar and have it. This provides instant relief from heat stroke. You can use coriander leaves as an alternative to basil leaf.

5. Treatment with onion

Onion is a natural cooler. Shred a big size onion and squeeze out the juice through a clean cloth. Apply this juice behind the ears and all over the chest. This will reduce inflammation and bring down your body temperature quickly. Alternatively, you can chop few onions and roast in a pan. Add powdered cumin seeds and sugar to it and have this mixture. This is also another beneficial home remedy of heat stroke. Regular intake of raw onions keeps your body cool and prevents heat stroke. You can add raw onion to your salads or have it along with your meals.

6. Treatment with raw mango

Raw mangoes are plentiful in summer, and they can be very effective in treating heat stroke in a number of ways. Boil few raw mangoes along with the peel and soak them in cold water. Squeeze out the mango pulp and mash it uniformly. Add few roasted cumin, coriander, pepper corns and a teaspoonful of jaggery to the mashed pulp. Blend the mixture in a blender adding a little water. Have a cup of this mixture twice a day. You can add jaggery according to your taste. Roasted raw mangoes are equally effective in treating heat stroke. You have to roast these mangoes in coal ash for better effects. Add sugar to the roasted mango pulp and have it twice a day. It keeps the body cool and prevents heat stroke.

Tamarind juice is very effective in reducing fever caused due to heat stroke. Add little tamarind pulp in boiling water and keep it for few minutes. Strain the decoction and add sugar. Do not add excessive sugar. Drink this decoction twice a day. This will keep your body cool in very hot climatic conditions. You can also apply water soaked mashed tamarind pulp on your hands and feet to maintain normal body temperature.
