Volkswagen AG after a long haul of more than two decades is going to rebrand its Golf series by the name of VW rabbit in United States and Canada. VW has announced the vehicle at the New York International Auto Show. The car, however, is not completely bidding adieu to its ‘Golf’ name and will keep promoting it in the rest of the world.
The name change probably means to inject the car with a bit more character and thus position it little differently in the said market.
The Golf last year posed a sorry figure for VW and it only managed to sale less than 16,000 units. VW now infused with iconic Rabbit goes on sale in two and four door versions this summer.
