A ban against tobacco companies won’t cut any ice on the commercial success of Melbourne’s formula one Grand Prix. Steve Bucks is confident that its only matter of time they will certainly get some new sponsors for the event.
In anyway the ban on tobacco advertising is not new in GP circuit. Earlier it has happened in other countries and they have successfully replaced the void with other advertisers.
The debate from some corners already has started pouring in. The Formula One head Bernie Ecclestone angrily says that there is a valid contract runs till 2010 and if cigarette advertising is not allowed on the ground the grand prix would breach its contract and pull out of the Melbourne fixture.
