This is an interesting print advertisement worth recalling from archives, meant for promoting 8888, a SMS Service from the Times Group, in 2002. The campaign was actually launched to promote SMS service on the occasion of Valentines Day. The campaign was apparently aimed at encouraging youngsters to SMS more and more through their services. Concentrating on young generation, the campaign has successfully attempted to focus the general and instinctive characteristics of young generation, especially when they are in an affair.

Since the advertisement was aimed at promoting SMS service, which generally used textual format, the advertisements were also used only text highlighting the emotional aspect of young men and women. The presentation of the campaign is certainly plain, expressive and assertive and exemplifies a remarkable use of copy in advertisements. The campaign was designed and created by Nirmal Pulickal, at present working as the Senior Writer at Young & Rubicam Singapore since July 2005.
