The National Distribution Union has infuriated with the recent ad taken out by supermarket company Progressive Enterprises in a daily newspaper. The Union has said that the advertisement is misleading. The full-page ad appeared in the New Zealand Herald claims that the Union’s demands are irrational and threaten the livelihood of the business, its staff and suppliers.
On the other hand, the union counters the ad saying, the advertisement has actually misrepresented the claims of union and the number of people it represents. Almost 500 hundred union workers are on strike since Friday with the demand of a pay hike by 8 percent and they are continuing to picket outside the distribution centres.
