The Lawry had launched this amusing print advertisement campaign to popularize ‘Goal! World Cup Photography’ exhibition. The campaign aims at drawing public attention with showing some interesting photographs with the corresponding witty texts. The advertisements are showing few memorable moments and stalwart and it further takes a funny take with humorous message. As the exhibition seems to be incorporating very old photographs from World Cup the shades of the photograph has been deliberately kept black and white.
The presentation of the campaign is also very interesting as it takes effort to make it appear as if the photographs are being displayed in a gallery. Moreover, the entire campaign is very simple and straight that it leaves no ambiguity in its message. It’s most impressive copy is, ‘What England’s been waiting for since 1986. A public hanging of Maradona’. The campaign was created by BJL, Manchester, UK.
