E.ON, owner of Powergen, has recently shifted its £10 million creative account to TBWA/London. TBWA/London will take over the account from Campbell Roalfe/YR, which was handling the account since 2003. The newly appointed agency will create advertisements for E.ON and Powergen. The creative spending of the company was earlier £10 million which has been now increased to £15 million.
According to reports, the agency won the account without participating in pitch process and the agency was approached By E.ON last December. The German utility company is looking forward to increase efforts in building the Powergen brand in England.
Speaking on the issue Eon director of brand strategy and communications Helen Merrick said, ‘With Eon’s sponsorship of The FA Cup we now have the opportunity to raise the profile of Powergen’s parent company – the UK’s largest integrated power and gas company – and we are looking forward to working with TBWA/London to achieve this’.
