“No smoking” ads haven’t had the kind of effect one would have expected of them. People have always disregarded the “preserve your life” message – a scenario that has prompted admakers to look for alternative themes. And we believe, they might have found the ideal solution. Teasing the self-respect of people, undoubtedly, can yield positive results. INEN’s ad does just that, equating smoking to stupidity. Characters in the ad attempt the most ridiculous ways of inviting death, and perhaps smoking outdoes all of these. We hope the impact is for real this time.
