Interactive Advertising Bureau on Monday released last year figures of Europe’s online advertising which is approximately €8 billion ($10.8 billion). In Brussels, a two-day pan-European congress was being opened by IAB, where it released these figures. According to the figures, there is almost double increment from the year 2005 figures i.e. €4.6 billion recorded.

This survey was conducted over 13 countries. According to the results, UK is positioned top in online advertising with 39% followed by 22% Germany, 15 % France, 7% Netherlands and the remaining 12% includes Spain, Denmark, Belgium, Austria, Finland, Greece, Slovenia and Croatia.

According to the survey, online spending in Europe is 45% with 31% display advertising, 22% classifieds and 1.6% e-mail marketing. Whereas online ad spending in UK has overtaken radio ad and most probably overtake print in the coming time.

37% is the growing rate of e-commerce in Europe, whereas net online sales are 76 billion ($97 billion) . According to Alain Heureus, IAB Europe President, “These figures demonstrate without any doubt the significance of the European online advertising industry,”

According to the European Interactive Advertising Assn’s executive director, Alison Fennah, impacts of these changes are visible on the business. He also added, “Interactive media is radically changing the way in which we market on a local, European and global basis.”
