Not less than $3 million in tax money earmarked for preschool ads has disappeared. The commercials were part of a $23 million worth advertising campaign that began in last November.
Only two weeks ago Arnold Schwarzenegger replaced Rob Reiner, the Hollywood filmmaker by Hector Ramirez over allegation that Reiner was misusing the money to benefit his political goals. The campaign started at the same time when Reiner was collecting signature for June ballots.
GMMB, the public relation firm which was hired to wage the $23 million campaign sued Durazo on Thursday. GMMB has gained more than $169 million in contracts from the commission and has paid Durazo approximately $30 million. In the lawsuit it claims that Durazo has admitted the money that has been transferred to it is going missing.
