The Staten Island Advance has reported that Mayor Michael Bloomberg has started a public ad campaign to raise awareness against domestic violence. Moreover, to call attention to the issue, he further declared that, the city would host a two-week long festival in June.
Many posters and outdoor ads of tattered women and girls will pop up on the walls of bus shelters and subway cars. The posters will appear in both Spanish and English language. The ad campaign will ask people to call the domestic violence in case they themselves or some one they know are victim by dialing helpline number 311.
