O: The Oprah Magazine circulation drops 9%

Magazine circulation is dropping everywhere. But we can expect some surprises in the coming weeks, Advertising Age reports. The Audit Bureau of Circulation’s Fas-Fax report till December 31 is expected by early next week, but insiders in Ad Age indicate the biggest losers of them all will be O: The Oprah Magazine.

The Hearst Publications’ Oprah lost 9.3% of its circulation since second half 2004. Rick Day, the director at Oprah said to avoid the bonus circulation which in any way does not bring any value to the advertisers has been reduced. To reduce the bonus circulation, however, he said, subscription prices were raised.
