Will Nintendo hype evaporate just like Sega. Is the history on the verge of repeating itself? Though it is one of the two top game publishers in the world and again one of the top two game manufacturers and it can boast of all the right reasons but as far as Overture search result is any indication “Nintendo Revolution” (1,486 search a day) is far behind than PS3 (5,132) and the big brother of all Xbox 360 (11,895 searches). I am not going to discuss the influence of the search on the bottom line of the respective brands, but whatever, for gamers Nintendo is up with lot many very unique plans. Let’s wait for the next console from it, hope this will bring all its competitors down jus like that from the elevated strata.

From the article:

“One interpretation is that searching tends to be driven by advertising and word of mouth, most of which coming after a product is launched. Since the Xbox 360 is available, it is makes since that it would outrank the PS3 and Nintendo Revolution.

Another interpretation is that search activity is directly correlated to pre-launch hype. In other words, it’s the pre-launch buzz that really drive search traffic. If this is the case, then we can expect to see a huge increase in searches for both the Nintendo Revolution and Sony PS3.”
