I don’t remember when last time Hollywood experienced such a dip? Believe it or not it’s not only the box office numbers down by almost 8% but also, whatever, presenter or nominee in the award functions was also paid in gifts. Anyway, that’s becoming a norm these days. So, to take Hollywood from this slump, the barnstormers are devising an ASA style advertising campaign to encourage people to watch more movies in theatres.
The new ad campaign is titled, “Movies: Just like DVDs, but Larger.” Dan Glickman, who now runs the motion picture association of America, felt that (earlier he was U.S. Agriculture Secretary) campaigns “Got Milk?,” “Pork: The Other White Meat” and “Beef: It’s What’s for Dinner” can reverse the falling trend at box office.
