Net4domains.com had launched this ambient campaign in India in an interesting way to grab people’s attention for its services. The objective of the campaign was to communicate that people can register all kinds of domain names at this site. As the service runs on very thin margin of profit, the campaign was to be low cost but effective. Following the objective advertisers decided to paste branded stickers displaying just .com on various existing public signs to create interesting domain names. The sticker carried a line at the bottom that read, ‘Register it at net4domains.com’.
The presentation and placement of the campaign was not only interesting but hilarious as well. As a matter of fact, the idea was quite innovative and the execution was perfect. However, some claim that the idea was earlier used in some other campaign. The advertisers claimed that after releasing the campaign visits to the site increased by 70 percent and many of the inquiries were converted in actual registration.
