Medianews and Hearst negotiating ad revenue share with Yahoo

According to reports, Medianews Group and the Hearst Corp. are on the negotiating table having Yahoo Inc. on the other side. They are negotiating to share online contents in areas such as local news and classified advertising.

The prospective deal, which is being discussed, would provide these newspapers a greater presence on the Yahoo portal and it would be instrumental in driving traffic to HotJobs, Yahoo’s employment listing site.

Yahoo, in return, would give the news companies a share of the revenue from ads placed around news article that appear on yahoo.

If the deal is finalized, this will be a major breakthrough in the sphere of bringing together the old and new media.
