Amidst the deepening controversy regarding Madonna’s on going confession tour, senior priest at Milan’s Duomo has turned down the request of bringing down the singer’s poster erected on its scaffolding. The banner erected on the church is a part of Hennes & Maritz ad campaign but this particular ad on the church is for the fund raising efforts to restore the cathedral.
The controversy on the banner hanging on Duomo coincided with the controversy over the Madonna show near Vatican City where she had performed mock crucifixion. This act of Madonna came under intense criticism and protests.
The critics have however, argued that the poster of Madonna on the church is not appropriate as she has advocated unmarried sex in her song ‘Like a virgin’ and ‘Papa don’t preach’.
