This poster ad for the Post Office of Germany desperately tries to present the conventional lettersâ emotional edge over the new-age communication means. The poster shows a mail slot carved to a manâs chest. And, the copy reads- ânothing gets to you like a letterâ.
At an age, where e-mails and social networking sites are increasingly stealing the show from our grandpa post offices, it is a natural and sensible move. The poster tries to touch the emotional chord of the people. What other aspect it can flaunt? Not speed, of course. But how a letter from the post office can possibly affect your heart than the other modern communications devises do?
The concept is, indeed, nice. But, it may not help to bring more letters to that red box.
