IOC won’t allow betting ads

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) for the London 2012 Summer Olympic Games needs 530 million pounds as sponsorship money. However, IOC has refused to receive any sponsorship money from any gambling organization. It also won’t allow any company to advertise such products or services around the perimeter of stadiums for next 30 years.

Gerhard Heiberg, the IOC marketing commission chairman said that IOC has been looking for 10-12 partners for the game. According to the report published in Times, IOC has received tempting offers from betting firms and many of them involved in sports. However, IOC made it clear that it does want to get involved with gambling companies.
