honda the poweof dreamHonda worldwide’s power of dream advert has been created by Wieden + Kennedy, its favorite agency for quite a few years. (love to see such bonding, these days relationship falls apart forget a year, inm the first six month itself). This 120 second spot is directed by Ivan Zacharias who has earlier worked for commercials like Land Rover, Whiskas, Mitsubishi, United Airlines, Volvo, Audi etc.

How does he go for an ad spot. What’s his think process like?

Zacharias normally takes around two months to conceptualize an idea So he is involved right from the birth of the thought, from preproduction to post production stuff. There are many a directors who pass it on to different people and Zacharias does not agree with that. He feels the biggest fun lies in those processes, so he better likes to attach himself to the developments. He is all game, be it post production, editing, sound editing.

The ad shows a Honda test-driver stepping out of a trailer and lip-syncing the song “The Impossible Dream” by Andy Morris. He gets on a Honda Monkey bike that morphs into other Honda vehicles, including the 1965 Formula 1 Grand Prix-winning car, the new BAR F1 automobile and finally one of the firm’s powerboats. All the while, the actor is lip-syncing the song. A voiceover by Garrison Keillor states, “I couldn’t have put it better myself.

The “Power of dreams” tagline remains, and the ad points consumers to the Web site, thepowerofdreams.com.
