It goes a bit beyond our imagination. An airportâs public relations division decides to make a unique effort to make a buzz. They hire an acclaimed writer for one week. He spends his daytime at the airport and writes about his experiences.
Quite interesting. Isnât? well, Heathrow Airport has hired Alain de Botton, author of popular books including âHow Proust Can Change Your Lifeâ and âThe Art of Travel,â to write a book about his experiences at this airport during the one week. As he types at his laptop, the letters will also appear behind the screen and the placard near him explains- Mr. de Botton is serving a one-week appointment as Heathrowâs âwriter in residence.â
This interesting effort has been envisaged by Heathrowâs public relations agency, Mischief of London. The book will be distributed free to 10,000 Heathrow travelers, and then be available for sale through Amazonâs British Web site and traditional bookstores.
