Ford to increase online ad spending

Ford is planning to increase its spending of its media budget on emerging technology such as internet video. Ford, the sixth largest advertisers last year, has also indicated that it is on process to increase its brand marketing budget next year. Moreover, the company is contemplating to reduce its ad spending on traditional television commercial.

John Felice, general marketing manager with the company said,

You have to look much more broadly … the days of running a 30-second commercial on three major networks are over. It’s much more broad, much more integrated and experiential.

The online marketing is day by day becoming sophisticated and a number of big private companies have already started using consumer-created advertisements to allure young and web savvy market. Ford is also planning to tap this market by using user generated content.
