The Foundation for the Adoption, Patronage and Defence of Animals, FAADA, has launched this print advertisement campaign to give a call to people that they should not buy animals or pets on impulse as this tendencies raises the fear of abandonment later on. Sandeep Makam inform us that the advertising agency in charge was furnished with the fact that 80 percent of the people who purchase an animal do it on impulse – people who act on the same impulses as those involved when buying a bag, a pair of earrings or a T-shirt.

The advertising agency, Contrapunto has used the lay out of a fashion magazine that contained upcoming fashion accessories and it also included an animal in the frame to outline it as a product. The punch line reads, ‘A dog is not a fashion item.’ Overall the campaign is very impressive which definitely displayed a sarcastic take on those who adopt and then abandon pets later on.
